The Cardinals and Steelers make for an interesting game. One of the best offenses in the league matched against one of the best defenses in the league.
I will be cheering for the Cardinals to win this one, but my head says the Steelers win 34-17.
Have a Happy and Safe Superbowl weekend!

Our team faced our toughest challenge today playing probably the best team in our age group. The game was tied 4-4 at the half. We were down 6-4 in the 3rd quarter and then rallied to win the game 13-10. It was great to see the girls play hard and win a close game. The other team was a really good team and we play them again in a couple of weeks. Michaela played really good, especially on defense.

Today is a historic day in the life of our nation as President Obama begins his time in the Oval office. As believers we have a responsibility to pray for our new president. I would encourage all believers today to spend a few minutes meditating on the following passage and spend some time in prayer for our new president, all of our leaders and our nation.
1 Timothy 2:1-3 “First of all, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, so taht we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godlinesss and dignity. This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior”

Our 3rd and 4th grade lady bear basketball team is now 2-0 on the season after a 18-6 win today. Michaela had a really good game scoring 2 points and getting several rebounds and steals. Here is a picture of her on the floor wrestling for the ball and a picture of the undefeated team.

Michaela’s 3rd & 4th grade basketball team had their first game of the year today. They dominated the entire game and won the game 34-4. All of the girls played great and had a lot of fun. It is an honor to help coach them.
Here are a couple pictures and videos from the day. In the last video you can see Michaela scoring a basket in the game.

Be It Resolved January 1, 2009

The first day of the year is upon us. And while I am not a big fan of “New Year’s Resolutions” since I find that I end up breaking them by the second week of the year. I did take time today to look over Jonathan Edward’s resolutions.
Edwards would read over these once every week in order to keep his mind on his duty before God. They are quite challenging.
I am highlighting a few of them here that caught my attention and would probably be good for all of us to strive for during 2009.
- Resolved, that I will do whatsoever I think to be most to God’s glory, and my own good, profit and pleasure, in the whole of my duration, without any consideration of the time, whether now, or never so many myriad’s of ages hence. Resolved to do whatever I think to be my duty and most for the good and advantage of mankind in general. Resolved to do this, whatever difficulties I meet with, how many and how great soever.
- Resolved, never to do any manner of thing, whether in soul or body, less or more, but what tends to the glory of God; nor be, nor suffer it, if I can avoid it.
- Resolved, to live with all my might, while I do live.
- Resolved, never to do anything, which I should be afraid to do, if it were the last hour of my life.
- Resolved, to study the Scriptures so steadily, constantly and frequently, as that I may find, and plainly perceive myself to grow in the knowledge of the same.
