Pineapples & Pizza August 18, 2006

One of the things I have really enjoyed about Indonesia is the fresh pineapple we have enjoyed each day.  Normally, I am not a fan of pineapple.  Yet the pineapple here is great.  We have it with just about every meal.  Also, tonight we had pizza.  It was pretty good even though it did not have any sauce on it.

Today our team went out to a village and helped to dig a trench for a water line.  It was a lot of hard word, but it was rewarding to know that we did helped in a small way to bring some water to a group of people.

We also went on a tour of a lot of the areas heavily damaged by the Tsunami.  It was very humbling to see all of the damage.  One of the most amazing things was seeing a huge barge that was left about 3 kilometers inland as well as a fishing boat that was left on top of a house.  The boat is still on top of the house and under the boat they are rebuilding the house.  It was quite amazing.

Colossians 1:29 “For this purpose also I labor, striving according to His power, which mightily works within me.”
