From Life in the Father’s House by Wayne A. Mack & David Swavely…

“Unfortunately many churches are filled with people who approach church life as if they were at a ball game. They are content to let the leaders and some members do all the work while they themselves sit back and cheer, criticize, or simply pass the time.  But God’s Word makes it clear that life in the Father’s house is not a spectator sport. We have been given spiritual gifts to use in service for others, and only by doing so will we work as a winning team. The Father has designed us all to be key players in His game plan for the body of Christ. So every member should be a “full-time minister” in the work of the local church.”
