Thank You! May 26, 2008

This past week I had the honor of officiating a funeral for a man in our church who had served for 28 years in our military.  He was literally a hero from World War II having earned the distinguished flying cross for piloting a B-17 through the Italian Alps after having 2 engines on the same wing shot out. Hearing this story made me realize just how often we take for granted the freedoms that we enjoy and how so we forget all the sacrifices that were given for those freedoms.

On this Memorial day let us not forget all that we have to be thankful for as Americans.  Take time today to say thank you for those who have served our country and also take time to say a prayer for all the men and women serving around the world.
