This past Saturday was a sad day for me as a father.  For the past 4 years I have helped coach Michaela’s YMCA basketball team.   This last week was her last ever YMCA game.  Next year she will move up to the Middle School basketball team and my days of coaching her will be finished.   I cannot wait to see what happens as she continues to grow and excel in both academics and athletics.   She has yet to get anything less than an A in middle school so far as well as becoming a really good athlete in the sports she loves.   I am very proud of her and am so blessed by the Lord to be able to be a part of her life.

Here are a few pics from the past weekend:

Michaela and her  basketball buddies showing off a 3rd place medal they got in a tournament they played.

One of my all time favorite pictures of Michaela, showing off her shooting form as she goes up for 2 points in the game.

Another good picture of her driving to the basket against one of her best friends Devin.  Some pretty intense players!

Last night we finally got a little snow–about 5 inches.  Three of the girls went out and played in it this afternoon.  Here are a couple pics from their fun.

Blizzard FAIL! February 2, 2011

All the news around here for the last few days has been this major storm that was going to hit and be the storm of the century!  Well for the most part it missed us.  We got about a quarter of an inch of ice and a dusting of snow.  It was still enough to cancel school for a couple days, but far from the anticipated storm of the century!

I am thankful to be living here in Missouri and not having to deal with what is going on in the Chicagoland.  Here is some amazing footage from Lake Shore Drive in Chicago this morning.  Hard to even imagine having to deal with stuff like this.
